Texas LTC Shooting Test
We offer Shooting Proficiency, aka the Texas LTC Shooting Test. This is for individuals who have already completed their classroom portion online and need to get the additional signature on their LTC-104 form so they can upload their application.

The Texas LTC Shooting Proficiency Test will be conducted according to DPS Standards and will take 1 hour up to 2 hours to complete. Range rules will be given upon arrival as well as a Range Safety Brief and outline of commands used during the course of fire. Our range is outside exposing you to the elements and we have no public restrooms. After arrival, DO NOT handle your firearm outside your range bag or case until instructed to do so by Instructor.
Shooters are responsible to bring:
Firearm (.22 cal or higher) (semi-auto or revolver)
No Magnifying Red/Green dot optics allowed on test
Min 50 rounds of reliable ammunition for the firearm they bring (no reloads)
Eye & Ear protection, Hat (ballcap) recommended
Closed toed shoes (no flip flops or sandals)
Weather & shooting range appropriate clothing.
LTC-104 form signed from the Online Course you completed
RAW Arms Texas LLC reserves the rights to dismiss or stop a proficiency shooting if the shooter demonstrates inadequate knowledge of firearm safety or violates range rules and jeopardizes the safety of others. This may cause the shooter to return at a later date or find another instructor to complete their shooting test.
Shooting Test is administered in the following firing sequence:
Stage 1: Twenty shots (20) will be fired from 3 yards.
A. Five (5) shots fired in a “One Shot Exercise” 2 seconds allowed for each shot.
B. Ten shots (10) fired in a “Two Shot Exercise” 3 seconds allowed for each two shot sequence.
C. Five (5) shots fired in 10 seconds
Stage 2: Twenty shots (20) will be fired from 7 yards — fired 5 stages.
A. Five (5) shots will be fired in 10 seconds
B. Five (5) shots will be fired in 2 stages:
1. Two (2) shots will be fired in 4 seconds
2. Three (3) shots will be fired in 6 seconds
C. Five (5) shots fired in a “One Shot Exercise” 3 seconds allowed for each shot.
D. Five (5) shots fired in 15 seconds.
Stage 3: Ten shots (10) fired from 15 yards — fired in two 5-shot strings.
A. Five (5) shots fired in two stages:
1. Two (2) shots fired in 6 seconds.
2. Three (3) shots fired in 9 seconds.
B. Five (5) shots fired in 15 seconds.
Remember Safety is the main goal here, and then passing. A passing score is 175 out of a possible 250 points. A B-27 sized target will be used and scoring of shots will be 5 points for anything in the 10/X, 9, or 8 rings, 4 points for anything in the 7 ring, 3 points for anything inside the silhouette, and 0 points for held rounds or rounds outside the silhouette.
