Shooting Proficiency Test
After completing the online classroom portion, students must separately complete the required in-person proficiency demonstration and applicable state requirements.
The required in-person handgun proficiency demonstration is separate from the online course. This proficiency test must be completed on Texas soil. If you need help finding a Texas LTC Shooting Test we can help.

Why Get a Texas LTC?
Texas has permitless carry laws for eligible individuals (21+ year olds), but the Texas LTC program is still active and provides benefits that can make obtaining a license worthwhile. DPS specifically notes that an LTC remains relevant for carrying on university campuses, carrying in K-12 school zones (not in the building), reciprocity with 37 other states and other licensing benefits.
