Can military veterans get a Texas License to Carry (LTC) online? Yes! Texas allows veterans, or anyone, to complete the classroom portion of their License to Carry training online. So, save a weekend and do your classroom training at home from your computer or smartphone.
Do Veterans Have to Complete Range Training?
Texas recognizes qualifying military firearms training. Veterans with documented military firearms proficiency or range qualification completed within the preceding 10 years may qualify for an exemption from the in-person proficiency demonstration. So, what does this mean, it means you don’t have to do a proficiency shooting since you already have.
Veterans must still meet applicable LTC eligibility, classroom training, documentation, and application requirements.
Are There LTC Discounts for Texas Veterans?
Yes! Eligible veterans may qualify for reduced or waived Texas DPS License to Carry application fees. The amount depends on military status.
