The In-Person License to Carry (LTC) Course trains individuals who want to obtain a license to carry a concealed handgun in Texas. This in-person course covers all required material needed to qualify for a License to Carry permit.
Our certified firearms instructor leads the class and uses their experience and expertise to teach the proper and responsible use of firearms. The course includes essential topics such as firearm safety, secure handgun storage, shooting fundamentals, and Texas state laws that govern firearm use.
Students must complete a written exam and pass a shooting proficiency test to demonstrate their understanding of the material. After successfully completing the course, students receive a certificate of completion (LTC-104) that they can submit when applying for a License to Carry permit.
The in-person class provides an excellent opportunity to learn firearm safety and responsible gun ownership. It equips students with the confidence and well-rounded knowledge needed to exercise their Second Amendment rights safely and responsibly.
If you want to obtain a License to Carry permit, we highly recommend enrolling in an in-person class. This course offers a hands-on way to learn about firearms and firearm safety from experienced professionals. If you are already confident in your firearm handling skills an online class to meet the Texas DPS classroom requirement might work for you as well. Military members could also benefit by using their military shooting record to prove firearm proficiency and bypass the live-fire requirement.
